About SMCA

A school built around the family — not the institution.

We're a small K–12 Christian school in Clackamas, Oregon. Here, your child isn't a number in a hallway. They're known — by their teachers, by their classmates, and by a community that's glad they're here.

A welcome from our Superintendent

We'd be honored to serve your family.

At Spring Mountain Christian Academy, we love what we do — and we know how to serve students well, from our youngest learners to our high schoolers. We are a family-oriented school that values relationships, listens carefully, stays curious, and invests deeply in every child.

Give us a chance. We are confident in our experience, committed to excellence, and honored to serve more families in our community.

Our heart

Help every child grow — in faith, in learning, and in who God made them to be.

We exist to partner with families. Parents are a child's first and most important teachers; our job is to come alongside you, not replace you. That's why we keep classes small, the week unhurried, and the door open.

A Christ-centered education here isn't a subject on the schedule. It's the soil everything else grows in — academics, friendships, character, and the everyday work of becoming a kind, capable person.

Our story

Started by families, for families.

Spring Mountain Christian Academy began in 2006, when a group of local families wanted something different for their children — not a bigger building or a longer schedule, but a place where faith and learning grew together, and where every child was truly known.

They started small, with a clear conviction and a lot of prayer. Nearly twenty years later, that same conviction still shapes everything we do. We've grown into a K–12 academy across two campuses — but we've stayed small on purpose, close enough to know every student, and every family, by name.

Accredited & trusted

A fully accredited K–12 education.

Spring Mountain is accredited K–12 by the Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), a division of Cognia — the same standard held by the region’s established schools, backed by nearly two decades of serving Clackamas families.

Faith & character

A biblical worldview, woven through — not bolted on.

Faith here isn't a single class or a Friday assembly. It's the lens we read history through, the reason we treat each other well, and the quiet thread running through an ordinary school day.

We want every child who walks through our doors to feel they belong — to know they're loved, to ask honest questions, and to grow in character that lasts long after graduation. Families come to us from many backgrounds and churches, and all are welcome here.

Known by name

Small by design — a community where everyone belongs.

We stay small on purpose. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, learning here is personally tailored and hands-on — teachers know each child's name, their strengths, and exactly what they're working on this week. No one gets lost in the crowd, and no one is left to fall behind. Every student is known, challenged at the right level, and kept on track to succeed.

Mission, vision & beliefs

Preparing minds for leadership and hearts for service.

SMCA partners with families to educate students in Bible knowledge and a Christian worldview, to grow evangelical Christian values and principles, to train students in moral character, to provide a quality academic education, and to promote service to God and others.

Christ-Centered

Christ-centered in everything we do, say, and teach.

Biblical Worldview

We teach and lead from biblical truth — because all truth is God's truth.

Spiritual Growth

We welcome every student with the love of Jesus and encourage them toward spiritual growth.

We affirm the inspiration and authority of Scripture, the Trinity, the incarnation and redeeming work of Jesus Christ, the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, humanity's need for spiritual rebirth, and the bodily resurrection and return of Christ.

Meet our team

The people who'll know your child by name.

It takes a village. Across both of our campuses, our teachers and staff are the heart of Spring Mountain — they're here because they love these kids, believe in this kind of education, and pour themselves into the growth and success of every student in their care.
